You'll Find Genuine Sympathy:

  • Many people don’t understand that grieiving a pet is the same as grieving a person for some owners.
    • My promise: You will have a space with me to grieve as profoundly as you need to.
  • Some people think you can only grieve dogs or cats.
    • My promise: Scaly friends, hairless friends, furball friends…they can all have profound impacts on our lives. I provide the same services for all pets.

I'm here for you as you grieve a special kind of loss of the most special kind of friend.

My family got a maltese, Moses, around 1999. We chose a hypoallergenic dog for my needs, but our sweet boy ended up being plagued with allergies of his own. He was loud and high-maintenance, but fiercely protective and a constant source of love.

Moses (1999-2010)

One day in 2010, we woke up to Moses hardly moving and not eating. My heart sank, and we rushed him to the vet. I knew the worst news was coming.

Cancer had plagued him too, it seemed, and we put him down that day to avoid prolonged suffering.

I was more distraught than I ever imagined I would be. It seemed like death and loss were coming at me from every angle.

Nick was wearing a back and neck brace full time during the last nine months of his life, but as always, he was looking for ways to take care of me as I lost another source of comfort. With limited mobility, he insisted I go to a friends house while he painstakingly picked up Moses’ toys and bed and got them out of sight.

That tender memory will always frame the loss of my pet, so I am committed to helping you cope with the loss of yours and all the ways it might affect your life.

My Pet Grief Package

A minimum of 3 1:1 coaching sessions

You deserve a space where the loss of your pet is taken seriously. This loss can feel not unlike the loss of a family member, particularly one that tends to be a source of unconditional love.

Together, we’ll honor the complexity of your grief without judgment. I recommend at least 3 1:1, one-hour sessions. We can have as many as you need.

  1. We’ll start with sharing the story and expressing the emotions.
  2. Then, we’ll talk about coping skills and chart our a plan for the next 6-months.
  3. Finally, we’ll find ways to honor your pet in the moment and beyond.

Whether it’s a text, an email, a Zoom call, or a phone call, I will reach out to you on days like your pet’s birthday and the anniversary of their death to see if you need any support.

As an optional part of the package, I would love to see pictures, hear special memories, and help you design a meaningful memorial experience that reflects your special relationship with your pet.

By the end of our first three meetings, we will identify some of your core triggers, ways to cope when you’re feeling the loss, and outline the actions, thoughts, and behaviors that can support your healing.

Easy Next Steps:

  1.  Schedule your free consultation as soon as possible (by phone or Zoom).
  2.  Attend the call and connect and hear about your experience and needs.
  3.  Determine if we need to augment or specialize any parts of the Pet Grief Package.
  4. Agree on a final contract and schedule your sessions.
  5. Begin the journey of healing from the loss of your pet

Together, we’ll create a personalized plan for hope, healing, and rediscovery.

At Learning to Live Again, I honor the heartbreak, celebrate the love, and guide caregivers toward a life renewed with peace, purpose, and joy.

You are never alone. Let me walk this road with you.
